Sharing yoga practice & sound healing…
Yoga Breathworks wants to encourage your curiosity about the mind body connection through yoga. The idea that stress impacts our health is not new, gradually we are realising we all have agency, we can down-regulate our overstimulated nervous systems & prevent dis-ease in the body. Breathing techniques (pranayama) & body awareness (asana) meditation (nidra & sound healing) help reduce stress, ease discomfort, improve sleep, prevent injuries, and enhance resilience.
I’m a YTT500 accredited Yoga Teacher having studio with the Life Centre - YTT200 & The Shala - YTT500 & Sound Healing School UK. I continue to learn from my own yoga & sound teachers: Susanne Lahusen, Melanie Cooper, Jennie Wadsten Sharma Norman Blair, Catriona Brockenshire, Gingi Lee & Tracey Gibson.
Being a life long learner enables me to bring you fresh & up-to-date yoga, sound healing, health, wellness & neuroscience knowledge woven into my teaching.
Hatha sparked my interest in yoga in my teens, leading me to Astanga Vinyasa in 1998, I was totally hooked on practicing daily & on the feeling of happiness that the demanding 2 hr practise gave.
Yoga stayed with me, in gyms & village halls, on holidays & work trips, providing health & wellbeing through life’s journey.
In 2011 Nick & I built a photography studio for our businesses: HelenMarsdenphotography.com & MarMarCreative.com behind our house.
I quickly realised the space was fantastic for yoga & invited local yoga teachers to hire the space regularly. I knew then Teacher Training was a long term goal. Studying the history, philosophy, anatomy, physiology & sequencing of yoga was a fascinating deep dive into a life long passion. I was taught by well respected, experienced & varied teachers who shared their many contrasting viewpoints. I’v continued my learning journey with YTT500 & recently into Sound Healing.
Ultimately these practices help to balance life’s contrasts, strength with flexibility, movement towards stillness, symmetry & asymmetry, deep focus followed & relaxation. By combining dynamic movement with stillness, we promote fitness & injury prevention, work towards calm, mental clarity & develop ease in facing life’s challenges.
I teach Vinyasa, Yin & Chair yoga & Yoga Nidra & Sound because I have & continue to find that it all helps soften & down regulate the stresses of modern life.
